It is well known that roughage keeps the sensitive organ and its flora healthy. But the gut also loves fermented foods, yoga, and even hypnosis. When it comes to fruit and vegetables, it pays to take a closer look: not everyone can tolerate everything.
So-called FODMAPS are often found in foods that are commonly referred to as “healthy”, such as fruit and vegetables. Australian scientists have developed a special diet that distinguishes between foods marked red and green. Those marked red contain more of these sugar compounds, those marked green less. The red list includes apples, cherries, asparagus, mushrooms, rye, wheat, Milch, cream and honey. On the other hand, berries, bananas, kiwis, broccoli, carrots, millet, rice, coconut milk, lactose-free milk, eggs, fish and meat are marked green.
