The first step is often the hardest – this also applies to Cindy’s first real step in her weight loss process, which ultimately helped her to a better, healthier you.
Like so many other fellow sufferers, Cindy initially tried a number of diets and even unhealthy diet pills.
But none of the diets and certainly none of the supposed miracle cures had a long-term effect – and her motivation always left her quickly.
Low self-esteem because of the kilos
It was the same game every time: she tried a diet, lost a few kilos, but could not stick to the diet in the long term.
At the same time, the weight gain had an increasing impact on the life of the young American.
“At one point I almost never left my house and avoided looking in the mirror because I hated the way I looked,” Cindy says back in an Instagram post.
“I stopped going to my boyfriend’s family gatherings and hid at home. But at some point I said to myself: This should finally be the end of it!”
At that time she weighed around 100 kilograms.
Lose 30 pounds on the keto diet in just one year
The crucial hint came from a colleague who explained the principle of the keto diet to her in more detail for the first time.
“So I started Googling, watched a few videos on YouTube, went to Pinterest for recipes and grocery lists, and looked up other keto Instagrammers. Then I just started.”
Motivation through noticeable results
The end result of this little research was her new lifestyle, which involved a severe reduction of carbohydrates and eliminating sugar from their diets.
The goal of the keto diet is to achieve what is known as ketosis. In this metabolic state, the body uses fat instead of carbohydrates to generate energy, which is supposed to shed the kilos.
In order to achieve ketosis, however, a greatly reduced intake of carbohydrates is required. For Cindy, that meant accurate tracking of what was recorded nutrient.
However, their efforts were quickly rewarded and the first results became apparent after just a few weeks.
Listen to your body when trying to lose weight
After just the first month, her scales showed seven kilos less – that motivated Cindy and confirmed that she was on the right track.
“I started slow and listened to my body to figure out what works best for me,” the 32-year-old describes her first few weeks on the keto diet.
Eventually, the young woman began to integrate intermittent fasting into her keto diet, and she was finally able to motivate herself to exercise regularly.
With willpower to the goal
“I’ve achieved all my goals so far because I stayed consistent and didn’t give up,” says Cindy, pleased about her willpower and perseverance.
“Such a change takes time. did i fight Absolutely! Did I have difficult phases? Absolutely! Did I ever want to give up? Absolutely! But I persevered.”
