Lose weight: Thonon diet promises up to ten kilos in two weeks

According to the developers, the Thonon diet from France is supposed to lose up to ten kilos in two weeks. The main focus is on a protein-rich diet.

The French are not only known for their indulgence: many of them also enjoy a slim figure. This is mainly due to their healthy and balanced diet. For example, French cheeses have less sugar than light products and are therefore better suited for a weight loss plan without giving up. No wonder, then, that the promising Thonon diet also comes from France. According to the developers, a protein-rich and low-calorie diet should supposedly tumble up to ten kilos in just two weeks. It is said to be one of the fastest and most effective methods in the world to lose weight.

The diet, which is now popular not only in France, is named after the town of Thonon-Les-Bains on Lake Geneva. It is divided into two phases. You start with the so-called weight loss phase, in which between 600 and 800 calories are consumed every day. This is followed by the stabilization phase, in which the calorie intake is increased to 1,200 to 1,500 calories per day. The weight loss phase should last a maximum of two weeks, otherwise, according to the developers, there is a risk of a nutrient deficiency. One week is set aside for each kilo lost for the stabilization phase.

Very few people know it, but vegans have valued it for a long time: rice syrup. At first glance, it has the same consistency and color as honey, but it is more transparent. The coconut sugar is made from the nectar of the coconut palm and is also rich in various minerals. Nevertheless, it does not taste like coconut, but also has a caramel note. You can use it 1:1 like brown sugar. © J. Pfeiffer/Imago
