“I should have tried when I was 30”

Looking back, however, the 41-year-old thinks she should have taken the steps to get her health under control a decade ago. “Now that I know I can do it, sometimes I feel sad that I didn’t do it sooner. Maybe I should have tried when I was 30, not 40.”

However, Rebel understands that “everyone’s journey is different” and insisted that losing weight shouldn’t be a “race or competition” against others. Speaking to ‘InStyle’, she added: “But every path is different and it’s not a race or a competition. I’ve always been a bit of a late developer. I started acting when I turned 19, which is pretty late . And when I came to America as an actress, I was almost 30, which is pretty late, so I try not to compare myself to other people.”

The actress has “sympathy” for anyone struggling with their weight issues. “I have a natural empathy for anyone who struggles with weight issues because it’s something I’ve always struggled with. And that’s why, why i post things on instagram about my journey.Of course i have access to some amazing high tech treatments but what i have learned is that it really is the little things i do every day that make a difference. Like today when I was in Griffith Park [in Los Angeles] went for a walk and it’s free,” Wilson said, encouraging other people: “Anyone can walk and drink more water and do small, consistent things that improve their lives. It’s not too late to start, no matter what age you are.”
