Describing the changes in her life since losing more than 70 pounds, Rebel explained that it has “opened doors to dramatic acting” for her.
She said, “It opened up dramatic roles that I hadn’t thought of before, which is great for me to really use my acting muscles.”
In May, the Fat Pizza star openly admitted to being “sad” that she had waited until age 40 to adopt a healthier lifestyle.
“Now that I know I can, sometimes I’m sad that I didn’t do it sooner,” she told InStyle. “I have a natural empathy for anyone who struggles with weight issues because I’ve always struggled with it.”
Transformation Backlash Rebel recently said her own team was against her losing weight (Image: Instagram)
As one of Hollywood’s top comedy actors, Rebel recently said her own team is against her losing weight because she “makes millions of dollars as a funny fat girl.”
“I actually got a lot of backlash from my own team, here in Hollywood, when I said, ‘okay, I’m going to do this health year, I feel like I’m going to really change physically and change my life,'” she told the BBC Breakfast.
“And they said, ‘Why? Why do you want to do that?’ Because I’ve made millions of dollars by being the funny fat girl and being that person.”

She’s also been vocal about letting people focus on their careers, not their bodies.
“Is that what a woman has to do in the world, lose weight to get attention?” she said.
“It’s fascinating, why are people so obsessed with it? For example in women especially because of their looks? I know what it’s like to be a woman who’s essentially invisible to most people because she’s not seen as traditionally beautiful or whatever.
“It’s insane trying to adjust that. It’s just better to be the healthiest version.”
Rebel also spoke about the positive changes in losing weight and how she’s been treated differently since she started looking slimmer.
She said: “Sometimes people didn’t look at you twice because you’re taller. And now that I’m in good shape, people offer to carry my groceries to the car and open doors for you. I thought, ‘Is that what other people have been experiencing all along?’”
