Dresden / Radebeul – The Kenyan government of Saxony (CDU, Greens, SPD) wants to spend more money than ever since 1990! 2023 and 2024 government spending will rise 5.5 to an incredible € 48.5 billion compared to the current budget.
The government has decided on the relevant “key points” during the budget’s retreat in Radebeul. Minister of Finance Hartmut Vorjohann (59, CDU) relies on half of the additional tax revenue to meet requests for additional spending from individual ministries.
But it must also use up all state reserves – and increase the real estate transfer tax (from 3.5 to 5.5 percent). “There is one thing I would like to avoid as Minister of Finance,” he said.
The largest share of the five and a half billion additional costs is accounted for by 2,500 additional civil servants, including 518 new police officers, 730 teachers, 120 court officers, 100 government officials and 500 additional ministry staff.
The draft will be submitted by the government to the state parliament before the summer break and will be considered there. The budget decision is due in December.
