Corona: How quickly can you get infected again? When should the 4th vaccination be given?

Dr. Carsten Lekutat: Yes, a negative PCR test does not necessarily rule out infection, even though the validity of PCR tests is quite high. Tests can still be negative, especially if the nasal mucosa contains a small amount of virus, for example, at the beginning of the infection. In fact, a blood test can determine whether an infection has occurred in the past. However, it is not enough to determine normal antibodies, because vaccinations are also registered here. Rather, so-called n-terminal antibodies, which are considered specific for the infection, should be identified. But the same is true here: even with this laboratory test, there is no absolute certainty.
