Platforms such as Instagram and Co. not only enjoy high social popularity, but also created a whole new sales channel – influencer marketing. Social media users present products on their account and promote them in their community – the more followers, the greater the reach. It is an authentic and profitable means of advertising for companies, but so far only a few have used this method. “Many people don’t see how much potential there is in influencer marketing and what can be achieved with it,” says e-commerce expert Emre Girkin. Together with his business partner Can Özkan, he runs the company Ecomunlimited GmbH, which specializes in supporting online store operators in the field of influencer marketing.

Experts not only manage their own online stores, but also actively advise. In online trading, they pass on their knowledge to others. Ecomunlimited GmbH works with up to 100 influencers per month and managed to scale everything. During the training, clients can learn how to create an influencer marketing campaign to create long-term success. “In addition to increasing sales, companies also benefit from content in the form of promotional videos through influencer marketing, which they can use, for example, in their advertisements,” explains Emre Girkin. In addition, the large amount of new customer data allows for even better advertising. 1. The right platform

In the beginning, it is important to choose the right platform to get started with influencer marketing. For starters, very good sales can be achieved through Instagram and TikTok. Instagram, in particular, offers very accurate key figures – it’s easy to gauge which influencers can achieve which success. TikTok isn’t as easy to measure, but it’s cheaper. Here you have the opportunity to order big influencers relatively cheaply.

2. The right influencers

Of course, the choice of influencers is also crucial. After all, they must match the product and the target group for the campaign to be successful. Therefore, it is important to think carefully in advance with whom you want to contact and with whom it is best. For example, if you want to sell a modern sports product, you should choose young, sporty influencers who have a young and sports-loving community.

3. Payment

Ecomunlimited GmbH works with influencers of all sizes. Typically, 30 percent are registered as large influencers with more than 100,000 followers, and 70 percent are registered as micro-influencers. Micro-influencers get the advertised product for free, and sometimes a small fee of up to 100 euros. The greater the influencer’s reach, the higher his salary. “In our coaching sessions, participants learn what to pay attention to and what key indicators are important to determine what compensation can and should be paid to which influencer,” says Emre Girkin.

4. Find influencers

If you know your strategy and target group, you need to find the right influencers. To do this, you search on relevant platforms and write to several people every day. For beginners, it is best to start small. Micro-influencers can be used effectively and are a relatively cheap means of advertising, as long as they are active and have at least 10,000 followers and at least 3,000 story views. After finding good influencers, nothing prevents long-term cooperation with several campaigns. “Before booking an influencer, I always recommend using fake followers to check if the reach is real. There are simple tools for this today,” says the expert.
