There are three good things: this is probably the case with Warburg Pincus. The U.S. financial investor has had its office in Germany since the fall of 2019. This is the third attempt in the Federal Republic. After two unsuccessful attempts, first from Munich and later from Frankfurt, in the last attempt, the choice fell on Berlin. This is unusual: most funds are represented in the Frankfurt financial center or in Munich.
This time, however, Warburg Pincus, as CEO of the German office, deliberately decided to have an office in the capital. Rene Obermann, interviewed with FINANCE: “Berlin is a great place for us. The start-up scene is alive here. ”The investor wants to benefit from this dynamic environment:“ When attractive, young companies enter a phase where they need larger Private capitalinvestors are looking, we are there. ”He even believes the location at Warburg Pincus offers a“ real competitive advantage ”over other private sector investors.
