Electricity restrictions in Kyiv decreased, but the situation remains difficult. Serhiy Kovalenko, the general director of the energy company YASNO, announced this on Facebook on Tuesday, December 13.

«The good news is that with the addition of additional generation capacity, Ukraine received a total of +1000 MW. However, I cannot yet say how this will affect the capital. Because in reality these capacities should be distributed to all regions,” he explained.

According to Kovalenko, electricity production is increasing, but not to the level it was before the massive Russian strikes. In addition, network repairs are currently underway, which are taking time.

The CEO of YASNO also wrote that if there is no light for more than eight hours, it is most likely a local emergency. He advised to apply to ZHEK or apartment buildings.

«Is there light shining in the gray area of the graphic? Yes, there is light during the light gray area that shows the time of possible failures on the graph. And I’m sure the light will increase with today’s growth,” he added.

Earlier this was stated by the company DTEK to restore energy facilities to the pre-war level it takes years and billions of hryvnias.

According to Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, the Russian occupiers had been planning missile and drone attacks for two months. damaged about 50% of Ukraine’s energy system.
