Pasta dishes are not only one of the most popular recipes for dinner in Germany and there are numerous reasons for this: They have a great consistency, you can combine them with almost anything and in most cases the cooking process is also kept fairly simple. Just like here with the delicious pasta with salami, mushrooms and broccoli!

The ingredients for pasta with broccoli, mushrooms and salami

For 2 portions you need 180 grams of pasta (rigatoni is best), 200 grams of brown mushrooms, 150 grams of broccoli, 70 grams of salami in one piece, 1 onion, 3 cloves of garlic, 40 grams of parmesan.

Rigatoni with broccoli, mushrooms and salami: the recipe

Here’s how: First, put well-salted water in a saucepan and cook the pasta until almost al dente, then drain. Scoop out a few ladlefuls of pasta water while it is cooking.

Now clean the mushrooms with a damp cloth and wash the broccoli under cold water. The mushrooms are cut into eighths and the broccoli cut into bite-sized florets. You can also use parts of the stalk if you slice it thinly or they will process you into his soup another time.

The onions are cut into small cubes, the salami too, the garlic is cut into thin slices.

Now heat some oil in a pan and add the onions and half the salami and sauté for a few minutes until everything has colored. Then add the remaining salami, garlic, broccoli and mushrooms to the pan and sauté for a few minutes. Season carefully with salt and generously with pepper.

Before the garlic gets too dark, use a ladle to remove the contents of the pan from the pasta water and let it simmer for another minute or two. Then add the pasta, half the parmesan and half a ladle more pasta water.

The pasta should now cook in the pasta water together with the vegetables. The starch and parmesan create a creamy sauce that wraps around pasta and vegetables.

Then put the pasta and vegetables on two plates, sprinkle everything with the remaining parmesan and enjoy the rigatoni with salami, mushrooms and broccoli.
