Rom Stefano Zumino stands in the front row for more than two hours. The 75-year-old wants to see Giorgia Meloni up close when she takes to the stage at a campaign event in Genoa.
Meloni, that is the new hope of the Italian right – and also Zumino. “I always voted for the right,” says the pensioner, holding the flag of Meloni’s Fratelli d’Italia (TUI) party. He used to vote for Silvio Berlusconi, then for the right-wing Lega, now he wants to vote for Meloni.
