History is the future: stereotype and scapegoating
(BR 2022)
The program, based on a group of people, questions the mechanisms and stages of exclusion up to and including genocide, and at the same time shows preventive measures. The thread of the story is accompanied by two important meta-levels: the examination of modern and ancient anti-Semitism and the question of educational responsibility.
It is also about the reality of the lives of minorities in today’s society and the perception of the situation in which they find themselves.

Are we racist? Test
Documentation, ORF, 2020
How quickly do we lose compassion? Are we ready to discriminate against other people, to racially insult them? There was also an unusual experiment: 23 participants took part without knowing the details in advance. The group is divided into blue-eyed and brown-eyed. Blue-eyed people are discriminated against from the start, brown-eyed people are privileged. Will the blue eyes take it? What happens to a group when it is constantly discriminated against? How will brown eyes react? Do you step into discrimination, become a follower or rebel against the coach? The documents show: there can be a racist in each of us and each of us can be manipulated.

The luck of the ten is living in a big family
Documentation, SWR 2020
Why does the couple actually have eight children? Paulius, the father of the family, says: “It was just like that! There was always one thing and another, and somehow you couldn’t really stop.” In the end there were eight, including two twins. They are very lucky and they don’t lack anything, they say, even if Paulius admits that they don’t have too much freedom as parents. Monika used to be a model, started studying, then dropped out and had children. And since then, she will never miss anything professionally again, she says. Paul wanted to be an actor and gave up this dream when his first daughter was born. He became a stage manager and is the “backstage conductor” of the Schauspielhaus in Düsseldorf. Money and material things are not so important to the couple; the most important thing is living together with children Luise, Emilius, Anton, Lotte, Serafin, Nepomuk, Alvarus and Linnea. Music and sports play an important role in children’s lives, and some siblings always excel in the national Jugend musiziert competitions. in 2010 SWR author Susanne Brand met the Adler family and portrayed them in the film. How is it today, nine years later, when one child after another leaves home? How do Monika and Paulius create their new free space? Do you feel like you missed something? At the time, the Adlers said they wanted to give their children a good foundation in life. Did it work?

A great family adventure. Educational artists
Documentation, SWR 2022
They are anything but basic. Fire breathing and role-playing are part of the educational concept: the Lürig family of ten sees their everyday life as creative chaos with endless potential. The painter Ralf Lürig and his wife Sabrina, who plays music, have eight children between the ages of three and 21 and live in an old hotel in Aach im Hegau. The family performs as a choir in The Lyrics, everyone plays an instrument, and even household and kitchen tasks become an event thanks to imaginative role-play. It’s hard to support a large family as a freelance artist. But with a lot of ideas, work and confidence, a family can make ends meet. A quiet place is searched in vain in the stormy everyday life, but does anyone in this unusually creative family miss it?
